January in Texas

Calla, Jennifer, Ellie and I enjoyed a "Mommy and Me" day at the Dallas Arboretum last week when we had 70-degree temperatures! Calla had fun laying on a blanket under the sun, and Ellie loved running barefoot in the cool grass.
Check out Miss Calla rolling over from her tummy to her back!

Haha!

A short but sweet video of Calla getting tickled! (Sorry it's sideways.) Calla is smiling and laughing all the time these days!

Pure Happiness

Big news - Calla smiled for the first time the other day! We just melted. I captured these images on my camera phone -- it was the only camera right there, and it was all I could do to holler for Todd to come see her -- so the quality isn't the best. Such a precious moment! We've spent every minute since makes goofy faces and sounds - anything for the next smile, which are coming more frequently now!

Calla's Godparents

We are excited to announce our longtime friends Kerry Skowron Shea and Tony Vaccaro as Calla's Godparents. Calla has heard they are very special people in our lives, and we know they will be great Christian role models for her. We look forward to Calla's Baptism this spring!

Ringing in 2009

We celebrated the new year with the Hemingsons - so glad they are finally back in Texas! We had our Christmas gift exchange and the boys played Wii with Ellie and Calla in their arms, so cute! We were down for the count before midnight -- wow, how things have changed in a year! Not to worry, we were all up throughout up the night. Calla wanted to see the countdown in multiple time zones!

Bath-Time Fun

Calla had her first real bath...finally after her cord fell off. Her Aunt Lisa and Cousin Josh were here for the fun...so much fun that Calla peed on Lisa twice after the bath!

Calla loved being held by Josh!

Christmas Cheer

Sorry for the delay in posting updates. The holidays kept us busy, but were very merry...the best Christmas yet, of course, with little Calla here! We enjoyed celebrating with family and friends...and Calla enjoyed being held by everyone. We have a feeling she isn't going to want to be put down anytime soon.

Over the past few weeks, Calla spent most of her time changing outfits several times a day to wear all of her holiday gear. She said the costume changes got a bit old, but she enjoyed sporting everything from snowman suits to Santa fleeces to cutsie onesies. We thought you would enjoy a sampling of her holiday wardrobe!
